Goran Lozo is a 5th degree Black Belt in karate.
A native of Serbia (in the former Yugoslavia), he represented
his country in four European and two World Championships. As
a professional karate competitor, he was a member of five professional
teams and competed in nearly 40 countries.
Among his karate trophies, Goran is most proud of his four
National Championships and his National Cup titles. He won
the Bronze medal in the heavyweight division
of the 1995 World Championships, and was captain of Atlanta’s Magnum
Force Team in the finals of the World Team Championship.
Goran’s karate coach degree is from the School of Physical
Culture at the University in Belgrade. He was the subject of
the documentary film, “The Samurai and Mud Saga,” and
has written a book, entitled simply “Karate,” on
the scientific approach to developing world-class athletes from
youth through adolescence and into adulthood.
After his career was interrupted by service in the military special forces and
tactical police units, Goran served as bodyguard for the leaders of the political
opposition to former dictator Slobodan Milosevic.
For 15 years, Goran has helped to train professional athletes in karate, kick-boxing,
soccer, handball, track & field, and body building. He prepares and executes
conditioning programs for teams as well as individuals.
Today, Goran is also the owner and manager of Fitlanta, the Atlanta-based on-site
personal training company.
